This is an aerial view of the Mountain Lake Sanctuary (now Bok Tower Gardens) taken from the Singing Tower which was under construction. It was likely taken from about the fourth level based on surrounding negatives. Mountain Lake Sanctuary was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. This image captures the northern sections of the sanctuary which were the original Olmsted design. There appears to be a newly planted citrus grove in the distance in the right of the image. The date is an estimate based on other negatives in this collection and historical documentation. This negative is included in a set of three books which include Mr. Burrell's photographic documentation of the construction of the Singing Tower.
