This is a close-up image of a corner of Edward W. Bok's home, Valentino, located in Mountain Lake Estates near Lake Wales, Florida. Patio furniture is visible in the image. Mr. Bok was the editor of Ladies' Home Journal and the founder of the Mountain Lake Sanctuary (now Bok Tower Gardens). Valentino was constructed between 1921 and 1922 and presented by Mr. Bok to his wife, Mary Louise Curtis Bok (later Zimbalist), as a gift on Valentine's Day. '42' appears on the bottom right corner of the negative. The date is an estimate based on other negatives in this collection. This negative is included in a set of three books which include Mr. Burrell's photographic documentation of the construction of the Singing Tower.
