The Cathedral Church of St. Paul houses the 25-bell Windsor Memorial Carillon. The instrument was begun in 1896 as a chime with 11 bells cast by the McShane Bell Company (Baltimore, Maryland, US). Due to their deteriorating condition, the bells were silenced during the 1970s and remained that way for 15 years. In 1988, the original bells were removed and sent to the I. T. Verdin Company Cincinnati, Ohio, US) for refurbishment. In 1989, the chime was enlarged with three bells cast by the Petit and Fritsen Bell Foundry (Aarle-Rixtel, Holland, NL). In 1997, 11 bells cast by Meeks, Watson, and Company (Georgetown, Ohio, US) were added.
