The carillon of the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta has a nontraditional carillon of 47 bells. The instrument began in 1931 as a 15 bell chime, cast by the McShane Bell Foundry (Baltimore, Maryland, US). In 1995, four of the bells were removed and 36 new bells, cast by the Petit & Fritsen Bell Foundry (Aarle-Rixtel, NL), were installed by the I.T. Verdin Company (Cincinnati, Ohio, US). The four McShane bells removed in 1995 are now located in the garden of the church.
