The Kibbey Carillon is located in the lower belfry of the Gloria in Excelsis Tower at the Washington National Cathedral (The Cathedral Church of St. Peter and St. Paul), Mount Saint Alban. The Gloria Excelsis Tower is 301 feet tall and houses the 53-bell Kibbey Carillon. The instrument was installed in 1963 with bells that were cast by the Taylor Bell Foundry (Loughborough, England, GB). The carillon was given by Bessie Kibbey in memory of her grandparents, William B. Kibbey and Sarah A. Kibbey. The Gloria Excelsis Tower also has a 10-bell ring in the upper belfry. The ring’s bells were made by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry (London, England, GB).
