The carillon of the First Baptist Church was dedicated in 1987. The tower stands at 229 feet high and houses a traditional carillon of 48 bells. The bells were cast by the Petit and Fritsen Bell Foundry (Aarle-Rixtal, Holland, NL). Construction and other elements were completed by the I. T. Verdin Company (Cincinnati, Ohio, US). The tower is a freestanding steeple, which is believed to be the tallest prefabricated structure of its type in the world.
