The Gordon W. Stearns Memorial Carillon is located in the First Church of Christ, Congregational. The carillon is named in honor of Dr. Gordon W. Stearns, Minister of Music Emeritus, for his 30 years of ministry to the church. The traditional carillon has 50 bells. At its original installation in 1970, the carillon had 24 bells that were cast by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry (London, England, GB). In 1985, through the guidance of Timothy Hurd, the carillon was enlarged with 26 new bells cast by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry and a clavier built by the John Taylor Company (Loughborough, England, GB).
